Caitlin earned a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE/EIT) in 2015. Her dissertation work used open-source statistical software and citizen science datasets to understand the influence of green infrastructure projects on urban water management. In her research, she examined how adjustments to green infrastructure design affects stormwater runoff quantity and water chemistry. She first became interested in using R to harness big data as an undergraduate student and has more than 15 years of experience leveraging analytical methods to produce insights for several academic research labs, a medical institute, a military subcontractor, public safety planning agencies, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Caitlin likes looking for fireflies in her backyard with her children.
